I’ve always wondered what it’s like to have a senior in high school.
Moms were always so vague… and counting days for the kids to graduate. Obviously the kids were growing up into adults right in front of them and I wanted to know things like
What’s it like?
How do you handle them growing up?
What about how SAD this all is???
How do you handle grief? If you don’t have grief (many did not) WHY not???
And then senior year comes and I realized WHY they don’t talk about it – it’s not what they thought, things aren’t smooth, crazy stuff happens, they feel they should have done a better job, etc. etc.
I’m not going to do that.
Instead, I made this video as an honest insight into a moment in time in my life this year. Messy. Not perfect.
What do I talk about?
About that I hit his friend’s car.
And that he wanted to go to a night club.
And that things don’t always work out as planned. And what we did.
My hope is that it helps you in some way consider if what you’re doing now is helping you get to senior year with laughter and love. And if not, then there’s always time to shift.
(YES this is hard for me – are you kidding??? All positive comments on the video much appreciated!!)
